葵涌屏麗徑「屏麗 PLUS」Ping Lai Plus, Kwai Chung – 玻璃石拼貼畫 Glass Mosaic Mural 20×20mm

The wall mural at the Tai Lung Street / Ping Lai Path sitting-out area in Kwai Chung is made of custom 20×20mm glass mosaic supplied by Tai Fong Company. The artwork was converted into a tile-by-tile colour map, pre-assembled in the factory on 327×327mm mesh sheets and laid on site sheet by sheet, reproducing the design accurately in a fraction of the time. The mural was completed in January 2016 and later became part of the Ping Lai Plus community revitalisation project.

Glass mosaic consists of small glass tiles mounted on paper or mesh sheets. Colours can be mixed, graded or made to order from artwork — photos, figures, lettering, motifs and animals — for external walls, pools, ponds, stair edges and water level scales. The paving and stepped planters of the same sitting-out area use Tai Fong’s precast concrete paving blocks and RYOWA artificial granite.
